Startpage listing cleanup:

Use correct branding (Startpage.com vs StartPage)
Alphabetizes listings (besides Searx, a metasearch software platform rather than a provider)
Changes "obsessive" description to a more neutral tone: Startpage BV is a Netherlands-based company that has been dedicated to privacy-respecting search since 2006.

System1 might not mean anything to Privacytools visitors, and I believe it is critical to inform consumers that Startpage is now owned by a pay-per-click advertising company. Here's a possible tweak to the warning:

Startpage was recently acquired by United States-based System1, a pay-per-click advertising company.

I recommend linking to the System1 privacy policy because System1 seems to be involved in the day-to-day processing of Startpage search data. (See the fine print in that diagram that notes user personal information is "fuzzed.")

Perhaps you should show both the U.S. flag and Dutch flag in the listing since Startpage is now majority owned by a U.S. company, and it seems day-to-day processing of search data happens in the United States based on the fine print in this data flow diagram.

I do agree that it might be a good idea to emphasis what kind of company System1 is. However I don't think StartPage has anything to do with the privacy policy of System1. Also the use of Startpage is under the privacy policy of itself linking another privacy policy is confusing and not relevant. Legally everything is under Dutch law so the Dutch flag also makes sense, adding the US flag imo does not.

Yes. If consumers find out System1 is a pay-per-click ad company and PT doesn't make that clear, it could harm PT's reputation -- esp because a conflict of interest was raised by a Team Member.

However I don't think StartPage has anything to do with the privacy policy of System1.

It's very relevant since System1 seems to be involved in day-to-day processing of Startpage search data. See the flow diagram.

System1 is based in the United States and owns the majority -- perhaps 99% of Startpage. In addition, it seems that System1 processes day-to-day search data, presumably in the United States. I'd be surprised if U.S. law didn't also apply since the majority owner is a U.S. company. Using the Dutch flag only suggests that only laws of the Netherlands apply.
