Delete Branch "video-hosting"
Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Closes #1252, closes #1150 (which I didn't see was a thing before pushing this PR)
This PR lists PeerTube.
It does not list Invidious or LBRY (the other two I think probably should be listed, but I haven't seen any discussions opened). Unless we like @lrq3000's writeup at https://github.com/privacytools/privacytools.io/issues/1252#issuecomment-581210147? I am also fine adding these platforms to this PR if we are all good here.Perhaps invidio.us could be put under worth mentioning? Mind, you'll also need to update the PrivacyTools services section.
It's already at 500,000 videos, 60,000 users, 13,000 views https://instances.joinpeertube.org/instances/stats
Shouldn't we mention that PeerTube is more privacy-focused than LBRY? PeerTube has no trackers, anywhere, where LBRY uses several of them, and has Ads on their main instance.
Frankly, I don't see a place for LBRY on PTio anywhere. The site is littered with trackers and the alternatives (like PeerTube) are much better.
I'm on the fence because it is still a decentralized service, so you can run your own node on the LBRY network if you need to. And it does seem to be the platform with the most YouTube converts at the moment.
But I will remove it from this PR for now, we can save it for a future issue.
Nice, LGTM
Does anyone else see a missing icon there?
@dngray yes, I have the same issue.
Can't reproduce on two devices?
I can reproduce it in Firefox, Tor Browser, and on Fennec (Android) as well as Vanadium v83.0.41103.106 (which is Chromium).
LGTM
