Basic Information
Name: Git Large File Storage
Category: Filesharing
URL: https://git-lfs.github.com/
Description
Git LFS seems to be the most popular way to store large files on git. I am suggesting it, because Git annex is mentioned as worth mentioning.
I am not sure if this is the correct category, as I think it could also benefit privacytools.io in the future seeing the graphics (binary) file stored in this repository.
To get the most benefit with the current files, you would have to rewrite the history, so I don't think the current files could be converted.
What's the maximum size of an LFS repository on Github?
I guess the second may be about the software even if you self-host, but I am not sure.
what would this bring over the already listed recommendations?
I don't think there is benefit over them as we don't list any of the less popular alternatives to git-lfs.
Reopening, because apparently we do list git annex in file sync.
I think after #1308 is merged, we should add git-lfs as worth mentioning there, because it's more widely supported way to archieve storing large files.
