Basic Information
Name: Piped
Category: Video > Frontends and Proxies
URL: https://piped.kavin.rocks/
Description
Piped is an alternative privacy-friendly YouTube frontend that is efficient by design, has no connections to YouTube's servers, with no advertisements, and baked in SponsorBlock support.
Why I am making the suggestion
To spread my software / promote privacy-friendly alternatives to YouTube :)
My connection with the software
I am the author/developer of this software.
@FireMasterK looks a lot better than invidious. But why are you using Google Fonts? It is spy tool for Google and it also slows down the website by a lot.
Hi @ph00lt0
Using Google fonts was definitely unintentionally and is probably caused by a dependency, I will definitely work on removing it.
There's also one other connection to Google's cdn once, when registering the service worker, but I'm working on removing that too.Fixed@FireMasterK glad to see this is in progress. Until it's has dependencies on Google I wouldn't be in favor of adding this. But I am obviously supportive of this development. Do you have plans to open source the project?

I've already opened an issue in the dependency's issue tracker to ask whether it is possible to remove the remote resource.
The dependency on Google's servers for fonts has been fixed.
