Basic Information

Name: MUTE File Sharing
Category: File Sharing
URL: http://mute-net.sourceforge.net/

Description

MUTE File Sharing is a peer-to-peer network that provides easy search-and-download functionality while also protecting your privacy.

MUTE File Sharing compiles as a fast, native application for many platforms (no Java, no Python, etc.).

Why I am making the suggestion

I guess is a peer 2 peer file sharing network which is already well tested

Mute is apparently reliably anonymous, it encrypts connections and construct random circuits through the network, but it's not developed since 2007, so although it may still work, with the progress in cryptography and cracking it's likely not safe unless someone steps up to update the protocol.
