Some things coming to my mind:

check #1651 and answer questions there.
tell more about VyOS and how it is a privacy tool and secure and how we won't regret listing it
- remember citations so your research can be confirmed
open a pull request
*somehow get attention of team members who have interest in router firmware (I have no idea who, whom does git blame say to have worked on that file the most?)
- router firmware is not my cup of tea
