Description:
Now VPN providers not all of them host their servers on dedicated machines, some they use Amazon or Azure ...etc clouds which they owned by US and they provide the government agencies mass surveillance with all data without even warrant (Read more Edward Snowden & NSA leaks e.g PRISM program). So even if the VPN provider is out of the eyes control in which it protect users data from their government spying but its not really on technical basis.
So to summarize this , its better that the user know if the VPN provider is hosting their servers under cloud or dedicated servers.
Mullvad i asked them and they use dedicated servers
NordVPN i asked them and they use dedicated servers
ProtonVPN i remember from before 1~ year ago they were using Amazon, but i dont know if they still using it or not. <- Someone needs to check that with them or if someone can confirm/deny that.
IVPN No clue about it <- Someone needs to check that with them or if someone can confirm/deny that.
Makes perfect sense. Each description already mentions the number of servers, a footnote on each description would certainly be interesting. On the other hand, might there be a possibility that company X owns the hardware in country Y but subcontracts company z in countries where it does not have a physical presence? How would this be reflected?
Possible , i dunno a good method to truly validate that. Maybe others have knowledge about it (if there is any).
409+ servers, 442+ Servers and 70+ Servers. How do you plan to include them on the website?
I think I am labeling this as help wanted to signify that PR would be especially welcome and in case of no activity I would vote for closing this.
sorry i dont follow, what number of servers has to do with where the provider hosting them?
if its 1million server but hosted on amazon or any cloud then its hosted on cloud. Number has no relation with where the provider hosting his nodes.
I am hoping they have more providers rathern than depending on a single one.
