Het hangt af van een aantal factoren, zoals de activiteit van het project, de ervaring van de ontwikkelaar, de striktheid waarmee [code wordt gereviewd](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_review), en hoe vaak aandacht wordt besteed aan specifieke delen van de [codebase](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codebase) die misschien jarenlang onaangeroerd zijn gebleven.
